When a payment is completed in the payment window, the transaction is “Authorized”. This means that a reservation on the agreed upon amount is made on the customers card. The money is now available for capture. The possibility to capture the money after the reservation runs out varies from acquirer to acquirer.

The money is only “guaranteed” in the reservation period.

Reservation on a customer’s credit card

When authorizing a debit-card the auth-amount is reserved on cardholders account.

If the customer cancels the order, or maybe only part of the amount is to be captured, the remaining amount is still reserved.

CoolPay can’t cancel a reservation on a credit card and cancel does not remove the reservation.

The acquirers have informed us that the customer must contact their bank and ask them to contact the acquirer and ask them to cancel the reservation. Then, maybe, the acquirer can cancel the reservation.

If you wish to help the customer cancel the reservation, you’ll need the name of the bank, account number, name and contact information of the customers contact in the bank and order number and amount

A reservation will automatically expire after 30 days.
